About the Client

Our client is a well-established Australian privately owned freight forwarding business with a strong presence across the Australian market and international networks.

With a broad range of freight forwarding, warehousing and transport capabilities, the business is well positioned to offer customers a genuine end-to-end supply chain solution. They have a strong operational support structure and a number of key service offerings that provide a point of difference in a competitive market.

They are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Business Development Manager in Sydney to drive new business growth and further develop their customer base.

About the Role

This is a genuine new business / hunter-focused position for a commercially driven freight professional who enjoys identifying opportunities, opening doors and converting prospects into long-term customers.

You will have the support of experienced internal operations and commercial teams while developing new business across Sea, Air, Import, Export, Warehousing, Transport and Project Cargo .

The successful person will be comfortable developing their own pipeline, building relationships with decision makers and taking ownership of the sales process from initial prospecting through to conversion and ongoing account development.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across Sydney and wider NSW
• Build and manage a strong sales pipeline through proactive prospecting
• Conduct client meetings, presentations and business development activity
• Develop tailored freight and supply chain solutions for prospective customers
• Prepare tenders, quotes and commercial proposals with internal support
• Build strong relationships with key decision makers and industry contacts
• Represent the business at networking events and industry functions
• Work closely with operations and internal stakeholders to deliver on customer requirements
• Achieve agreed new business and revenue targets

Skills & Experience

• Proven Business Development experience within freight forwarding or logistics
• Strong hunter mentality with a demonstrated ability to win new business
• Established industry network across Sydney and NSW
• Strong understanding of international freight, particularly Sea and Air
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
• Commercially minded with strong pipeline and sales management skills
• Confident presenting solutions and negotiating with senior decision makers
• CRM experience and strong business development discipline
