Description
Every online booking is a chain of systems agreeing with each other, in real time. You'll own how RMS connects its customers' rooms to the world's booking channels, and decide which connections we build first.
The opportunity Our integrations portfolio has outgrown its original scope. Two major programs you'll lead: a CRS connectivity program with a large hotel group, and an integration with a global hotel chain that unlocks a significant sales opportunity. Alongside them, you'll set channel strategy: where we connect, why, and in what order. That answer hasn't been decided for you.
Why you'll enjoy this role Strategy and detail, together. Set channel direction in the morning, then work through an API spec with engineers in the afternoon.
Programs that matter. Take two live programs with real commercial weight through to a clean landing.
Room to set the pace. Shape how AI changes the way a product team discovers, prototypes and delivers.
What you'll take on - Own RMS's channel and distribution strategy, deciding which platforms we connect to, in what order and why.
- Take over two in-flight programs and carry them through delivery and certification.
- Work with Engineering on API specifications, integration architecture and design decisions.
- Get Sales, Onboarding and Support ready to sell and support the new products from launch.
- Represent RMS with partner engineering and commercial teams, including tough scope talks.
- Track where distribution is heading, including AI-driven booking, and build it into the roadmap.
The team you'll join You'll report to the VP of Product for Guest Services and Integrations and lead two Product Specialists through craft and example, working daily with Engineering, Partnerships and Customer Success.
What you'll bring You don't need hospitality experience. Reliable real-time integration work in payments, logistics, travel or e-commerce transfers well.
You'll likely have:
- Deep hands-on integration experience: reading API specs, plus fluency in webhooks, authentication, rate limiting, idempotency and data mapping.
- A record of owning large programs end to end, including picking them up mid-flight with big stakeholder groups.
- Credibility with engineers, and instincts for what makes an integration easy to build against.
- Comfort turning tangled requirements into a clear path, and making sound calls with incomplete information.
- Commercial judgement to set priorities and defend trade-offs to partners and leadership.
- Hands-on use of AI tools for research, prototyping and analysis, ideally in shipped product.
Experience with OTAs, channel managers, GDS or CRS platforms, or marketplace integrations, would be useful, but it isn't essential. And if you don't tick every box, apply anyway. A job description is a wish list, not a checklist.
How we work We've designed different ways of working because not every role, team or location needs the same setup.
Across RMS, every role sits within one of our work modes. It's a flexible, multi-modal framework: trust-based, role-driven and outcomes-focused. Every mode includes meaningful flexibility and remote working, alongside clear expectations about how we stay connected as a global team.
For this role, you'll work within our Metro-Anchored mode, based within commuting distance of our Melbourne office, with no fixed office days but the expectation you can come together with the team in person when it matters. Wherever we work from, connection matters. We're async-first: we use tools like Slack to stay close to our teams, share context, make decisions and collaborate across locations and time zones.
AI is also becoming part of how we work across RMS. We expect everyone to build a level of AI fluency relevant to their role, using the technology thoughtfully to improve how they work, solve problems and create better outcomes. What that looks like will vary by role, and it will continue to evolve as we do.
Life at RMS RMS is a global hospitality technology company helping operators run better businesses and create better experiences for their guests. We're ambitious about where the product and business are going, and the way we work continues to evolve alongside them.
A few things worth knowing:
- We value ownership. You'll have room to make decisions, and we expect people to take responsibility for moving things forward.
- Not everything comes with a playbook. We're continuing to improve our products, processes and ways of working. You'll sometimes need to create clarity rather than wait for it.
- We stay curious. Whether it's AI, new technology or simply a better way of solving an old problem, we want people who are willing to experiment, learn and share what works.
- We're global. You'll work with people, customers and partners across multiple regions, so thoughtful communication and collaboration matter.
- We care about outcomes. Ideas are valuable, but turning them into something that improves the experience for our customers, our teams or our business is what really counts.
And you can be yourself here. We're an equal opportunities employer, made up of people with different backgrounds, experiences, personalities and perspectives. That mix makes better ideas and better products for customers all over the world, and it means there isn't one type of person who fits at RMS.
Our values are simple: Committed to customer. Honest words, trusted actions. Push boundaries, stay curious. Own it, make it happen.
