Lead with purpose. Support your team. Help shape maternity care at Casey.

Casey Women’s is seeking experienced and motivated midwives to join our leadership team as Associate Midwife Managers in ongoing positions.

With opportunities available across both a dedicated Antenatal/Postnatal Ward stream and a rotational maternity stream, this is an opportunity to build your leadership career while contributing to safe, high-quality and woman-centred care across our growing maternity service.

About the Opportunities

We currently have ongoing Associate Midwife Manager hours available across two streams, with flexibility to consider part-time appointments at a minimum of 0.5 EFT:

  • 80 hours per week – Ward B: Dedicated AMM opportunities within our Antenatal/Postnatal Ward.
  • 54 hours per week – Rotational: Opportunities rotating across Ward B (Antenatal/Postnatal) and Ward G (Birth Suite/PAU), with the potential to further develop your experience through Clinic and Early Parenting Centre (EPC).

We welcome applications from candidates seeking ongoing full-time or part-time opportunities (minimum 0.5 EFT). Available hours may be considered across successful applicants based on experience, service requirements and preferred EFT.

These opportunities provide flexibility for experienced leaders looking for a dedicated clinical area, as well as those wanting to broaden their leadership capability across different areas of maternity care.

About the Role

As an Associate Midwife Manager, you will provide visible clinical, operational and people leadership, working closely with the Midwife Manager and broader multidisciplinary team.

You will:

  • Provide confident clinical and operational leadership across your allocated maternity area.
  • Support the Midwife Manager in the safe and effective day-to-day management of the service.
  • Coordinate staffing, patient flow and clinical priorities while responding to changing service demands.
  • Support, coach and develop midwives to build confidence, capability and accountability.
  • Promote a positive team culture where people feel supported to speak up, contribute and work together.
  • Role model high standards of professional practice and woman-centred care.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, service development and initiatives that improve outcomes and experiences for women, babies and families.
  • Live Monash Health’s values of All In, Full Hearted and Open Minded in the way you lead and work with others.

About You

You are an experienced midwife who is ready to take the next step in leadership, or an established Associate Midwife Manager looking to broaden your experience.

You will bring:

  • Current registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA.
  • Strong contemporary maternity clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability within a maternity setting.
  • Sound clinical judgement and the confidence to coordinate a busy clinical environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships.
  • A genuine commitment to coaching, supporting and developing others.
  • A collaborative leadership style with a focus on accountability, teamwork and positive workplace culture.
  • A commitment to safe, compassionate and evidence-based maternity care.
